RTA launches ‘Read More’ initiative to boost reading habits among students in the presence of Al Qatami and Al Tayer


The initiative targets ten thousand students in Dubai Schools






The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) launched yesterday “Read More” initiative in the presence of H.E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Minister of Education, H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), H.E. General (r) Sharaf Uddin Hussain, Board Member of Al Mawakeb School and several key educational figures & RTA executives, at Al Mawakeb Private School in Dubai.

The initiative is part of RTA social responsibility and is oriented to the students of public and private schools in Dubai in the age group 7-14 years with the aim of promoting & broadening their knowledge and intellectual skills and diffusing their reading habits. The initiative targets more than 10 thousand male and female students from about 20 public and private schools in Dubai and runs through the academic year 2010 -2011.

H.E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami hailed the efforts of the RTA in launching an initiative under the important theme of: Read More, adding that RTA managed over few years to make a substantial contribution to upgrading the urban profile of Dubai Emirate.
