391 offence tickets issued to Dubai Metro commuters till Oct 31st
Rail Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has issued 391 offence tickets to metro users during 50 days of train operation, starting from the launch of service on 090909 till the end of October this year across 10 stations on the Red Line.
Within the framework of streamlining metro using procedures, 391 offences had been reported spanning all the 31 clauses of Metro Fines & Offences Code. Using public transport means, facilities and services or entering/exiting fare zones without paying the prescribed fare attracted 170 offences, followed by eating & drinking in prohibited areas which was responsible for 77 offences, using invalid card (57 offences), placing feet at the seats (19 offences), and failure to present the unified card on demand; which accounted for 13 offences.
Rail Agency aims at streamlining metro mobility and deterring those individuals who cause riots and sabotage or tamper with the stations and metro so as to uphold the integrity of public properties and maintain this iconic masterpiece safe & clean to live up to its billing as the latest means of mobility across Dubai.
