Number plate auction proceeds in Dubai hit AED15m
Plate (I 44) tops the sale, fetches AED2.3m
Dubai Vehicle licensing plate (I 44) was sold for 2.3 million dirham and topped the list of distinguished number plates offered in Auction 64 held on October 3 by Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) at Al Mina Hall, Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai.
The auction was extremely populous as the total attendance exceeded 400 and the hall was full of potential bidders.
“The total proceeds of the Auction reached 15,359,000 dirham led by the number plate (I 44) which was sold for 2.3 million dirham, followed by (E 17) sold for 2.1 million dirham, and (G 1111) which fetched 1.1 million dirham.
“91 numbers have been sold in the Auction including 2 two-digit numbers (I 17) and (E 44), 19 three-digit numbers, 33 four-digit numbers and 37 five-digit numbers. Numbers offered comprised five categories (I, E, F, H and G); with 5 numbers offered under each of I & E category, but the majority of numbers offered were under F category (52 plates), followed by H category (16 plates) and G category (13 plates).

after getting accident , what is the use of these fancy numbers? no longer to see their number plates , after their death.......
