DURL Consortium continues construction works of Dubai Metro Project


The Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) confirms that Dubai Rail Link (DURL) Consortium is continuing with the construction works of Dubai Metro Project according to the planned schedule, and work is progressing normally at various sites in both the Red & Green Lines to finalize the remaining works of the project; which has completed significant phases. This is reflected by the project progress in the opening of the initial phase on 09 September 2009, and the opening of the station neighbouring Burj Khalifa on 3 January 2010 i.e. four days ago. RTA also reiterates its contractual commitments to the flow of payments in accordance with the progress of work made in the project.
RTA was surprised with some media channels circulating inaccurate reports about the project; whose work progress can be seen by everyone at various sites.

RTA operates Burj Dubai Metro Station on Monday, deploys 11 Feeder buses



Opening of the station coincides with the 4th anniversary of the accession to power by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid as Ruler of Dubai
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), announced that RTA will officially operate Burj Dubai metro station on Monday 04 January 2010 to mark the fourth anniversary of the Accession Day of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as Ruler of Dubai Emirate.
“Burj Dubai is one of the elevated metro stations with the concourse and platform situated at a level upper than the elevated metro track” said Al Tayer.
“RTA has deployed 11 buses to operate on two routes to feed Burj Dubai Station, where six buses will operate on Route F13 at 10 minutes interval. The Route links Burj Dubai Station with Burj Dubai area; which includes Dubai Mall, The Palace & The Address hotels, the Boulevard and other locations in the area. Route F16 has 5 buses operating at 10 minutes interval to link Burj Dubai Station with Jumeirah 2. Buses start off the Station and pass across Mazaya Center, Al Wasl Road and Al Uruba Road before heading back to the Metro Station” he continued.
